Inheritance and Will – How to do it
If you own real estate or other assets in Turkey, it is recommended that you make a will. Your assets abroad will not automatically become part of the estate in Denmark.
How to make a will in Denmark
You can create your will with a notary at your local district court. Read more about requirements for drafting and validity at:

Procedure in Turkey
The will is processed in the country where the property or assets are located. The heirs must use a Turkish lawyer to claim the inheritance. It is calculated according to Turkish rules, and the heirs must meet requirements such as:
• Presentation of necessary documents (translated, legalized and sent to Turkey).
The lawyer then ensures that the property or assets are transferred to the heirs.
Documents for the Turkish authorities
• Probate certificate from the probate court in Denmark.
• Documentation of the identity of the heirs.
• Documentation for heirs who have renounced the inheritance.
• Identity certificate/name certificate for the heirs.
